    True Encouragement…not fluff

A side note to this since it seemed to have been taken wrong by just a few…the folks that have been instrumental in my life never told me how good or great I was, they never sugar coated the message of life or any other message they shared with me but, like any good instructor, they always hit me, as it were, "right between the eyes" with the truth, most times it is what I guess some call "tough love" and many times NOT what I really wanted to hear, but what I really needed.

Their encouragement always came in the form of now that you have and know the truth, pull yourself up by your bootstraps and go get em'! I notice our Father God does that very thing. From start to finish in the Bible He tells us the Truth, His Truth and not just a humans perspective! And, as I mentioned, many times it's Truth that maybe we really don't like or want to hear, but it's God's Love because He knows better and it changes us for the better. He lets His friends and family know what their doing wrong, how to change, tells us what's coming, and then makes sure we know His Love, patience, Grace, loving kindness and care for us and, that those never never end and He will see us through! Just as the Word says…our fathers taught and disciplined us as best they knew how but God's teaching and discipline is always perfect, and so is His encouragement!

The builders referred to in Haggai had been under much stress and pounding from the enemy. God never pulled any punches with them but made sure that Haggai and the Prophets gave them the timely encouragement they much needed. I've been very blessed to have been raised by and those that have crossed my path to share with me how it is and how it's probably going to be. They never puffed me up but they were there to encourage and push me harder to be the best person I could be, in whatever endeavor I was in! Anyone that knows me very well, and Cara could sure testify, knows that I don't beat around the bush about things. But they also know that when you need encouragement, it might start out with what you really don't want to hear but will end up, as I've been taught, you can do this, for according to Philippians 4:13…I can do, and so can you, do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us!

We all need and the body of Christ needs the Truth of God's Word. And, in that Word is everything we need for life and Godliness. Many times I've become discouraged about life in general and sometimes I've been a little discouraged about what I've read in the Word. It seems that at those times, if I'm open to hearing and listening to the Father's voice, He comes with the encouragement I need, just at the right time! He's no respecter of persons and what He does for one He will do for you too!

    Better be sure…

I like this William Wilberforce (Amazing Grace) quote… kinda reminds me of the saying "ignorance of the law is no excuse" and, goes along with Romans chapter 1, especially versus 16-32.

“You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know.”

    Just some thoughts…

I saw a headline that stated: Chick-fil-A's anti-gay-marriage stance triggers online uproar… and, I might add, I've seen some of the uproar first hand!

The best I can tell Chick-fil-a was and continues to be founded on their belief in "Christian values", not solely on how they felt or think but have truly tried to base their beliefs on the Word of God and the Biblical definition of the "family unit." I keep in mind that the Bible is not something we should use to try and beat someone over the head with or use it to shame someone into submission! Conviction is the work of the Holy Spirit and He does it correctly, in Love. But I do believe, as I was raised, that if you truly believe in something you make a stand for that belief, not being ashamed of your faith. Please see Romans 1:16 and Matthew 10:32,33 as examples.  Many, in my opinion have made a stand for what they believe too. The difference as I see it in this situation, is that when a Christian individual, Church or company such as Chick-fil-a makes a stand, it is labeled hate, bigotry and complete intolerance. I too have felt the wrath that when I shared what the Bible says about a situation or statement that I believe in with all my heart, I was labeled full of hatred and a bigot. I'm not standing up for Chick-fil-a or for their food, I don't particular like it, I am standing up for their convictions and the fact that this is really not about their company but standing up for what they believe.

I do applaud anyone that stands up for what they believe, but when someone differs we have the opportunity to either accept or reject their differences and hopefully sit down and politely discuss them. But to immediately label an opinion as spewing hate is, in my opinion, showing the same intolerance that you so readily accuse the other of doing. Most people, companies and very sadly many Churches refuse to stand up for what they believe, choosing to be a fence straddler, political correctness I think it's called.  The Bible refers to some of this in 2 Timothy 4:3,4.  My Grandma had a saying about sitting on the fence…all you get when you straddle the fence is torn britches! And, a very good friend added…and you might get more than just tore britches! William Wilberforce had much to say about this in his book "Real Christianity".

Over the years I have seen a greater separation of those that believe the inherent Word of God and those that choose not to.  And not just a separation but an all out attack by those that disagree. I am not the judge but I do believe what the Word says, that the true Judge is standing right at the door. Let us all re examine our lives and our beliefs to make sure they are true and that in the end they will hold up to the Truth and be able to stand before our Maker.  1 Corinthians 3:12.13

Now here is some great news…

BREAKING NEWS: FHA rescinds $1,000 credit dispute rule…

(Click on the link below to be taken to the full report)

The Federal Housing Administration rescinded a rule that would have denied financing to potential homebuyers with ongoing credit disputes of more than $1,000, according to an alert sent to lenders.

The FHA quietly drafted the rule in March to mitigate risks to its emergency fund. The rule went into effect April 1. Borrowers would have to either pay off the outstanding balance on collections accounts or document an arrangement to pay before the mortgage was approved.

Folks, this didn't "JUST HAPPEN by accident". Being a Texas Association of Realtor's Director and a supporter of the Texas Realtor's political Action Group, I have joined many more Realtor's and political activists who have been diligently working at getting this rescinded since it's inception! Hopefully we can bring about a complete recension of this. The fight for private property rights and reduced Government control is an ongoing battle and I am privileged to be a part of it!
