The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.

Listening to the song, my heart yearns for Thee this morning reminded me of all the times I’ve been in those dry and weary places in life, you know, the ones that make you think…might as well just give up? or try to get us in one of those pity parties? My Grandma used to say a pity party is a party that only you show up for…because no one else wants to be there!

That is not my nature but I’ve sure been there. As the writer of Ecclesiastes states…vanity vanity, all is vanity!  And then the voice of Truth that tells me a different story and as the song states, I will choose to listen to the voice of Truth. Notice the most powerful word in that last sentence? The power to choose, the power of choice!

Even before I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me I remember my Mom and Grandma’s teaching about who you can turn to in these times, calling on the Name of the Lord to be saved and it ties in so well with the song…oh how my heart yearns for Thee, more than the watchman waits for the morning, Lord I am yearning for the.

The Psalmist David discusses some tough times and in Psalm 63 he declares who his God is and that he thirsts and yearns for the Lord. Then David goes on to make the powerful choice of seeking, seeing, praising with joyful lips and meditating on the Power and magnificent promises of God. You do know that when we give in and don’t turn to Jesus to be saved that there is great power in that choice as well? We have the privilege and power to make the RIGHT choice!

You can do that today for the Word states that while today is still called today, do not harden your hearts and in another place that today, right now is the day of Salvation and deliverance.

We’ve ALL many times made the wrong choices with myself being the foremost of making these bad decisions but join with me today in making what I call a quality decision, making those choices that lift up and give honor and glory to Jesus in our life. And, as it states in Hebrews 12…fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith and salvation.
