Always noticed that my biggest blessings come in giving. It can be monetary but usually it results from giving of my time and that does not always mean a large amount of time spent. Many times just stopping long enough to listen to someone or especially being able to pray with and for them or their needs blesses me more than all the money given could.
These thoughts actually started with a study I've been doing last couple days that emanated from
Galations 6:9,10
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Because we live in an era of National and Worldly unrest along with our own issues of political upheaval, it's easy to get discouraged and lose heart. We of the household of faith, as Paul puts it, must be available to share and minister the hope that's been set before us to a lost and dying world and even to those that are Christians but have either lost their way or have never truly known the saving and delivering power that is available to God's kids through His word, in the name of Jesus. Not hard to see that when you see how "watered down" many have done to God's Word of Life, Love and Power!
The other thing I noticed is that the statement,
"in due time" also means a season or a time when things are brought to crises! Wow, if that does not identify with our present age. Also the word used as season is the same word in verse 10,
"opportunity".
I know where I'd be if it wasn't for family praying and never giving up on me! And I do not minimize the many souls who have prayed for me and shared Jesus with me, even though for many years I didn't want to hear it! Thankfully they did not give up and God did not give up either!
2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation ? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,
